At the suffocating peak of summer on the Gulf Coast, the Gulf of Mexico hardly even cools you off. It's almost soupy.

Soon, though, water temperatures will start dropping and a Gulf swim will be more refreshing.

That's something to look forward to. I've always thought fall is the most pleasant season in Southwest Florida.
